Kuan brings to life each of its objects by connecting with the materials used, and showing passion towads the trade, design process and elaboration. They produce objects full of virtues, able to harmonize spaces and enrich the senses. This bowl is made out of 241 pieces of wood from four different species: Sapan (Clathrotropis brunnea), Urapan (Fraxinus uhdei), Yellow Cedar (Albizia Guachapele) and Colombian Walnut (Jugalns Neotropica). The pieces are individually joined to a specific extent by the previously designed bowl curve. It is then placed through the turning process where the excess is roughened until a smooth wall with a uniform thickness is obtained.
We found this artisan in his atelier in south of Bogota where he creates each piece by hand paying extremely attention to detail and perfection.
